The Lucerne

Lucerne is the most popular forage plant, belongs to the legume family. It requires high temperatures and dry weather so Spain is a perfect place for lucerne production.
ESANA fields are great located to produce this resistant plant, on the Ebro, where dryness and warm weather enhance the growth of this product.
The use of lucerne is based on its active ingredients and nutritional properties:

  • High in protein. Lucerne, provides a large amount of vegetable protein, something that will lead to the health of animals and people.
  • Naturally provides vitamins to livestock. High in macro and micro-minerals.
  • Fiber supplier. Increases the digestibility for ruminant animals.

Suitable for milk farming: cattle, sheep and goat livestock.
